Harper Collins acquires Toptrack Learning

US-based Harper Collins, part of the News Corp group, has acquired Toptrack Learning, in a deal brokered by corporate finance advisers Isca Ventures.

Toptrack Learning is a UK-based cross-curricular education technology company, with its language learning applications used in over 1,200 schools and institutions in the UK and overseas.

Harper Collins is the second largest consumer book publisher in the world, with operations in 18 countries and nearly two hundred years of history.

Justin Sycamore from Toptrack Learning said: “Through its flagship product, Vocab Express, Toptrack Learning has established a solid school customer base across the UK and internationally. This acquisition provides a tremendous opportunity to exploit the potential of the Toptrack Learning Application around the world and in other areas of the curriculum.”

Colin Hughes, Managing Director of Collins Learning said: ‘Vocab Express is an excellent product that has established a solid customer base. We are delighted to be taking it on the next stage of its journey: it fits perfectly with our commitment to language learning, and our ambition to continue growing Collins internationally and digitally.’

Isca Ventures acted as the lead adviser to the vendor, with legal services provided by OTB Eveling and taxation advice provided by Michelmores.

Isca Ventures identified Harper Collins as a potential buyer and led the subsequent process with pragmatic and timely advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services to other business owners contemplating a sale.
